Crime Stoppers Intl. Conference 2014

By |Published On: October 1st, 2014|

We were a little taken aback when we received an invite to speak at the 35th Crime Stoppers Conference in Cape Town in October. Nothing like a visit to the lions den.
The DC as representatives of Fields Of Green For ALL have been given the floor on the first afternoon sharing the stage with the likes of the SAPS Hawks International Drug Trafficking representative.

It feels a bit like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas – the pair of us driving through the Karoo with a boot full of drugs to an FBI symposium.

It will no doubt be a bit nerve wracking but on the other hand we can’t think of a better opportunity to get to the hearts and minds of the The South African policing community.

We promise we’ll be on our best behaviours and won’t be taking any vape pens into the auditorium. We would suggest you come along for the experience but the registration fees for the conference are nearly R4000 for non speakers. We will try to sneak a video of the proceedings and get some audio to you as soon as we can.

Wish us luck!

Best of luck. I hope you guys come up with a really fantastic speech that bowls everyone over and elicits a rapturous reponse complete with standing ovation.

It is time to tell SA law enforcement what’s what. They need to hear facts and evidence that the current approach has failed and it is time to chart a new path forwards.

Maybe make a mention of LEAP?

Attitudes are changing and the very fact that you guys got an invitation is a clear example thereof.

Is Major General Jeremy Vearey (the guy who got critted by the DA for wearing a Rastafarian t-shirt at a march against crime) going to be attending? He is one of the best cops that the Western Cape has.

Can’t wait to see how this unfolds for you both. Keeping fingers crossed
