How to get the ball rolling with starting a Dagga Private Club

The purpose of this Green Network DPC section is to give our much-appreciated members a starting point to understanding the thought process behind opening a club. We do not advocate for any particular club model, and the following information is by no-means a definitive guide to the process of starting and running a club, so be safe and enjoy the process! Remember should you have any questions, reach out to the team and fellow Green Network members on our Telegram group. We have a more formal document called “The South African Dagga Private Club Initiative” that delves deeper on some of the topics discussed here, as well as introduce many more aspects to consider.

For starters ask yourself, why are you starting a Dagga Private Club and how many members do you envisage having? We have found the most successful clubs are founded on good intentions and not solely focused on the money aspect. Having thousands of members can only bring the wrong attention, whether it be police or criminals. Our approach to clubs has always erred on the side of caution because of our hatred for the police and their never-ending harassment of the Cannabis community with busts and arrests. A Dagga Private Club is exactly that – Private, so keep it small and tidy.
