We are excited to confirm that we will have some super special International Guests joining us at the Amber Cup 2025, which will be held in October at the Cheeba Cannabis Academy Campus in Rivonia
Etienne Fontan is Vice President & Co-Owner of Berkeley Patients Group, one of the USA’s oldest continuously operating medical cannabis dispensary. A U.S. Army combat veteran, Etienne has spent over 30 years building cannabis businesses, shaping policy, and advocating for patients and veterans across the globe. From founding dispensaries and cultivation sites to training with the Dutch government’s medical cannabis program, he brings a deep passion for the plant, its culture, and its community. Etienne and his amazing wife Donna will be touring some of our beautiful South Africa after the Amber Cup, with Myrtle taking them on a safari adventure.
Bryon Adinoff MD is an addiction psychiatrist and academician. He is presently the president of Doctors for Drug Policy Reform and a Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He retired in 2018 as the Distinguished Professor of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Research at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and as a psychiatrist for 30 years with Veterans Affairs. Dr. Adinoff has published more than 200 articles, reviews, and book chapters on the biology and treatment of addiction and is the Editor of The American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse. In his semi-retired status, he has become increasingly involved in advancing evidence-based drug policy reform, including work on the International Intoxicating Cannabinoid Product Symbol (IICPS), which FGA promoted at the recent expo. This symbol is a registered standard with ASTM International.
